Not much can be said about Baiting Hollow, New York's Charlie Jarzombek that has not already been written somewhere else . Charlie started racing in 1962 on the Long Island tracks of Islip, Riverhead Speedways and Freeport Stadium. Charging Charlie won a ton of races in Long Island and other tracks throughout the years until his untimely death at Martinsville Speedway in the spring of 1987.

The Modified tour started in 1985 and Charlie managed 6 wins in the first two years of the tour including the 200 lap Stafford Fall Final in 1985 and the last race of 1986 at Martinsville.

Before 1985 Charlie was an infrequent visitor to Stafford Speedway winning 100 Lap special races in 1969 and again in 1979, then became a regular competitor at Stafford late in his career in 1985 taking down the Stafford Modified Championship and 6 features including the Ferrara 100 and Manchester Oil Heat 100. Charlie ended up with a total of 10 Stafford wins, 5 being long distance events.
