CHICK STOCKWELL began his racing career in 1949.  Spending most of his later 
career at the Danbury Racearena, Chick would venture out to other tracks in the
 50's and 60's in the days when a driver could race 3 and 4 times a week.  Chick
raced at most every track in New England and many of the New York Tracks and
won the 1957 Rhinebeck, NY Championship running on the Dirt.  Chick also won
the 1963 and 1964 United Stock Car Racing Club Grand American Late Model
Circuit Championship.

Chick's Danbury Racearena accomplishments are Legendary behind the wheel of his
 familiar  #151.  6 consecutive years he was voted the Most Popular Driver by the fans,
 9 Track Championships and the All-Time Feature Win leader with 51.

Chick retired from racing in 1981 with the closing of Danbury and was elected to the
NEAR Hall-of-Fame in 2001.
