CAMBINO
Johnny Cambino started racing in 1951 at the West Haven Speedway, and is most likely the all-time winner at the track. He was called "King" because he was the King of West Haven Speedway. John also raced in the Tuesday night sportsman division at the Riverside Park Speedway and made visits to Plainville Stadium and other North East Tracks. Johnny became a regular at the "Park" after the West Haven Speedway closed in 1967. John went on to win 5 features at Riverside Park Speedway between 1968 and 1975.
Johnny came out of retirement at age 60 in 1992 running the Limited Sportsman Division at the Waterford Speedbowl, winning a number of feature events.
