One of the Nicest Guys and a Gentleman on and off the track,  Ray Miller,  started his racing career in 1965 at the Plainville Stadium.  In 1966 the Stadium decided they didn't need the Modifieds any more and made their Novice Division the Premier Division of the track, dropping the Modifieds.  After Plainville Stadium decided they made a mistake and brought the Modifieds back in 1967,  Ray had moved on to other tracks and I believe never raced at the track again.  Ray went on to great success with the NASCAR Modifieds winning 14 features at the Stafford Motor Speedway between 1969 and 1986 including three 100 Lap races  2 of the them being the Prestigious Ferrara 100's.  Ray won 10 features driving the Simons #9 at Riverside Park Speedway between 1980 and 1985.  Ray can still be found at the racetracks cheering on his son Jay Miller at the area tracks.
